Real Estate Recession and Military Base Closures - The BRAC Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
    Friday, February 15 2008 @ 11:03 PM Etc/GMT

Gudrun and Tcat have discussed the market cycles and in quite a few of our pieces, how down trends in the real estate market are spotty, and not uniform. We found what for some is a real crystal ball! It is called The BRAC. This rather large tome may help you figure out is your market experiencing or about to experience a real estate recession? It turns out many builders look at The BRAC to figure out where to build new construction.

Certainly, are quite a number of factors to consider before even coming up with a probably yes or probably no real estate recession in your market. There are no definitive this or that methods of prediction. It's not a matter of just "reading the tea leaves" either. If you happen to be in an area containing one of the thousands of military bases, "The BRAC" can be a major clue to real estate boom or real estate recession. In this short article we'll take a look at what's that means.

MADISON - The Madison City Council is considering Fire Chief Ralph Cobb's proposal that the city get into the ambulance business.

On Friday, Cobb asked the council's finance committee to accept a $632,550 federal grant to help pay for six additional firefighters to make his plan work.

"I hope everyone will give us a fair hearing on this before they react," said Councilman Larry Vannoy, the committee's chairman. A work session on the proposal will be scheduled when more specific details are prepared.

alabama real estateThe median home price in the Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan area fell in the last three months of 2007, but not as much as the U.S. average in a tough quarter for the housing market.

Birmingham-area real estate agents said the drop was probably the biggest in more than 20 years. They said the market, however, has a strong base and shows signs it could improve within the year.

    Friday, February 15 2008 @ 10:28 AM Etc/GMT

There seems to be a lack of local quality information websites for Huntsville Alabama. After diligent research there were handful of decent target websites, some spammy advertising sites, the normal Chamber of commerce focused on industry, the city tourism site, and the sites similar to About. All of these have a special focus. What wasn't found was a quality information only relocation website.

Huntsville, over the next few years, is receiving to its population thousands of people. Almost all due to industry moves. The southeastern United States, especially Alabama and Tennessee, have become very popular places to live. With its quality of life, good schools, and friendly atmosphere, Huntsville is a seems to be the place to live. BRAC, Boeing and a handful of other companies are relocating employees over the next four years.

The Wine Cellar and Spirits on Highway 72 at Slaughter Road was heavily damaged by fire early this morning.

Firefighters were called to the business just after 4:00 a.m. after an employee of the Steak Out located next door reported the smell of something burning.

Firefighters arrived to find The Wine Cellar engulfed in flames.

The heat caused many of the corks in the wine bottles to pop, littering the floor.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation this morning.

homes for sale in AlabamaMontgomery's real estate and mortgage sector goes to great lengths to point out that many of the nation's problems are not hitting Alabama that hard. Although it's probably true that things aren't as bad here as they are in, say, Las Vegas, buyers, sellers or owners in Montgomery or Wetumpka probably don't care that much how homes are selling in Las Vegas.

    — In a move to beat the filing of legislation to prevent unopposed land grabs by outside municipalities, the Madison City Council Monday night voted to annex 1,400 acres of Limestone County land.

On the weekend Limestone County Commission Chairman David Seibert and Athens Mayor Dan Williams announced that District 5 State Rep.
