A pickup truck crashed through the wall Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
    Friday, April 13 2007 @ 01:57 PM Etc/GMT

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- A pickup truck crashed through the wall
of a Pearle Vision Center in Huntsville yesterday afternoon.

Authorities say none of the seven people inside the shop were
injured when the vehicle, driven by Dennis Wilcox, came through the
wall of a room full of patient files around three-30 p.m. The
store, at 3007 S. Memorial Parkway, was open and serving customers
an hour later , The Huntsville Times reported on its Web site
    yesterday.

Police officer Dean Paulin said that Wilson, an employee of
Johnson Pools and Spas, was driving a company truck northbound on
the north access road when the truck went between a utility pole
and a tree before hitting the building.
Paulin said the truck just missed hitting the utility pole
    head-on.
Paulin said the accident may have been caused when Wilcox
suffered from a medical problem. Wilcox was taken to Huntsville
Hospital by ambulance, but Paulin said his injuries did not appear
    to be serious.

Philippians 4:13 --- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

The road to success is not straight.
There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

Should you choose to do so, please pass this motivational message to ten others you would like to receive a blessing.

Tower at 7800 Sells for $3.6M Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
    Friday, April 13 2007 @ 05:02 AM Etc/GMT

Houlihan-Parnes/iCap Realty Advisors LLC sold the office building at 7800 Madison Blvd. in Huntsville, AL, for $3.65 million, or about $52 per square foot, in an all-cash deal.

The buyer was an investor known as 7800 Madison LLC. The deal closed on March 21.

The seven-story, 70,000-square-foot building was constructed in 1989 and includes 10,000 square feet of covered parking. Formerly known as the Wyle Building, it was developed as a single-tenant facility by Wyle Laboratories, which currently occupies two floors.

Houlihan-Parnes/iCap Realty Advisors acquired the building in December 2004 from Arrow Electronics, and converted the property for muti-tenant use. Houlihan renamed it The Tower at 7800 to establish the property's new identity as a multi-tenant facility.

Ron Karr handled the original purchase, renovation and sale of the building in-house for Houlihan Parnes. Charlie Grelier of NAI Chase Commercial represented the buyer. NAI Chase Commercial will continue to manage and lease the property.

City prepares for nuke terror Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
    Friday, April 13 2007 @ 05:00 AM Etc/GMT

    By Joseph Farah
WASHINGTON – With the nation facing an increased threat from nuclear terrorism, at least one community is rebuilding a public fallout shelter program like those abandoned in the 1970s when Americans began believing surviving a nuclear event was not possible or not worthwhile.

In Alabama, the Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency, in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, local schools and hospitals and businesses, has identified facilities suitable for public shelters against nuclear and radiological attacks for nearly half of the area's 300,000 people.

Spending only tens of thousands of dollars, the agency has successfully trained 78 shelter managers and is in the process of attempting to identify and secure more facilities to protect the public from the effects of radiation following a nuclear event.

How can this be? A bar with no television set.

"It's a totally different kind of concept," Paul Thornton says. "It's set up for couples or groups of three or so to share."

Thornton is explaining the scheme of Vinotini, a new tapas bar added to his Pauli's Bar & Grill. Tapas is a Spanish style of dining on small portions so that customers usually choose several items to pass around.
