Area real estate agents agree with a recent report that lists Montgomery as a prime market for investors.

The report by Business 2.0 magazine and Moody's Economy.com identified 10 cities that have "just about hit rock bottom -- and offer opportunities for savvy investors to get in while the getting's good."

Montgomery ranked fifth, with the Dallas-Fort Worth area leading the list.

Real estate agents call the ranking positive, in spite of the way it sounds.

This year's annual Taste of Huntsville, presented by the Huntsville-Madison County Hospitality Association, will be held Nov. 1 at the Von Braun Center South Hall. This year's Taste is sponsored by Go: Your good Times magazine.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and feature more than 40 Huntsvile restaurants, special cooking demonstrations and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance, including free parking at the VBC South Hall while available, or $30 at the door.

The Knox Entertainment Group (Huntsville, Alabama) has announced that nationally-known entrepreneur, author, syndicated business columnist and talk radio host Tim Knox will become a regular contributor to WHNT-TV (CBS-Huntsville, AL) as the station's small business expert.

Knox will appear on-set every Wednesday morning to answer viewer questions and discuss various small business topics. The segment, entitled "Mind Your Own Business with Tim Knox," will become a weekly feature of the "NewsChannel 19 This Morning" program.

Labor Day was created in the late 19th century to honor all those who labor, which in greater Huntsville means some 196,000 people in the work force.

While unions in Huntsville are far less prominent than in cities such as Detroit or Chicago, worker protections and bargaining rights extended to civil servants, teachers and public safety employees are present-day results of a much grittier negotiating environment.
