Introduction to Microsoft Silverlight 4 at North Alabama Web Developers Meetup
I wrote an article a few days ago about “learning web design and web development in Huntsville, Alabama. In my opinion, one of the best meetups on internet technology issues in the state of Alabama is the North Alabama web developers meetup. The knowledge you gain by attending these meetings is second to none. Also, the opportunity to meet like minded individuals to share technology and tips and tricks is comforting.
Topics of discussion include affiliate marketing, web optimization, web standards, php, mysql, open source codes, dreamweaver, silverlight, web design, content management systems, xamp, social media to name a few. On occasions, individuals are ask to volunteer to conduct a presentation on any topic of their choice in reference to the interest. If you have a website and you would like to have feedback from professionals on the various aspects of your site such as user friendliness, design, security, validation and so on, you are encourage to submit your website for review.
Professional web developers of all levels are welcome to come and share their thoughts on web development. Regular attendees range from seasoned programmers to web design newbies. The meetup is sponsored by dealnews.com, one of the largest publishers of product news content ranging from electronics to children toys. This month of March we will be looking at Silverlight.
Microsft Silverlight at next meetup (March 9th at Biztech around 12 noon)
The next meetup will be on the topic of Silverlight, a cross-platform, cross-browser plug in for building and delivering the next generation of media experiences & rich interactive applications for the Web. Since its release in 2007 it has progressed through 3 versions, achieved tremendous adoption and spawned a vibrant ecosystem and community.
In this interactive, technical session, you will learn the general framework of the architecture of a Silverlight solution, what tools you need to create it, how to integrate Silverlight with various web frameworks like ASP.NET and PHP, what’s new in Microsoft Silverlight 4 and how to connect it with back-end services. In addition, how Silverlight and its related tools are streamlining designer/developer workflow like never before will be illustrated.
