My Experience at the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo
Huntsville is bursting at the seams. The vibrancy of trade and commerce in Huntsville was felt yesterday at the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
There were a variety of companies represented from every field of business. Media outlets, big national banks, car dealerships, hospital and clinics, a whole potpourri of businesses including a a few small start-ups like KVAR, which sells a small machine that reduces your electricity bill by 8 to 30 percent.
I met my good friend and radio personality, Kenneth Anderson, who was promoting his event: “Celebrating 20 Years of Inspiration”, scheduled for November 6, 2010. I had the opportunity to see some of my church folks including the owners of Consolidated Concrete who also had a booth.
All the universities and colleges were there at the expo: UAH, A&M, Drake Tech, Athens State, Calhoun etc.
At the A&M booth they were promoting “CORE FOUR”, a business planning course provided by the university Small Business Development Center. Thank you A&M for the beautiful pen. You can visit the small business department at www.aamu.edu/sbdc
UAH had a booth promoting their MBA department. A very nice gentleman explained the program to me.
Here are some of the booths I visited: Allied Photocopy, CorrWireless, Crestwood (thank you for the bag), WTKI 1450am, Landers Mclarty, C&A catering, Bank of America, etc.
There were also business seminars on networking and social media and a host of other subjects presented in another room.
In brief, the Chamber of Commerce event was fantastic. I heard through the grape vine that it cost $400 per booth, a pretty penny, but probably worth the price.
Were you at the Chamber’s Expo. If yes, post your thoughts below
