Ken Gawronski, Jr., a local Young Republican, life-long resident of 28 years, and small business owner, will announce around 8PM February 19, 2010 at General Standards Corporation on Whitesburg Drive his candidacy for Alabama State School Board Dist. 8.

“After a lot of prayer and consideration, I realize the immediate need to get involved in public education.” Gawronski said. “I am encouraged by the early support I have received and look forward to getting out and meeting the voters one-on-one.”

A product of Public Education in District 8, Gawronski, is an alumnus of Chaffee Elementary, Whitesburg Middle School, Virgil Grissom High School class of ’99, Calhoun Community College ’05, and Athens State University ’08.

“As a Student, Alumni, and Father, I understand firsthand the needs of our schools, teachers, and our children that will go through the system as I have,” Gawronski added. “I will be a tremendous advocate for ensuring our tax dollars actually reach the children in the classrooms.”

Gawronski is a local Eagle Scout from Troop 17 and past board member of CASA of Madison County. He also has earned an Advance High School Diploma, an Associate Degree in Mathematics, and a B.S. Degree in Political Science.

Gawronski will be the only State School Board candidate that is a product of public education in this district from elementary to becoming a college graduate.

“I was raised to believe that our children should have the same or better quality of education than their parents and I will work hard to do so. I believe that Alabama’s success depends on our children’s success,” Gawronski concluded.

Ken and his wife Catherine have a 7 month old daughter Kaylee. She will be attending the same schools as her father.

Mr. Kenneth E. Gawronski, is a fine man, who will represent District 8, and represent the families of District 8, to better the community. He is a strong advocant for better opportunities, better training, and quality in the public schools. He is ready to assume the role of helping our youngsters acheive their fullest potential. He has some experience in the capital as a Capital Intern, learning the ropes, so to speak, and he has excellent learning experiences provided by Athens State University and the professors there.
He wants and deserves your vote!
