WRITERS WORKSHOP FEATURES HARLEQUIN
EDITOR-AT-LARGE LESLIE WAINGER
(HUNTSVILLE, AL)— Information from today’s top publishing professionals is invaluable in a writer’s journey toward publication. That’s why Heart of Dixie is proud to announce Harlequin Editor-at-Large and Book Doctor Leslie Wainger, author of Writing a Romance Novel for Dummies, as the headliner for its 2009 Writer’s CPR: Jumpstart the Heart of Your Manuscript Workshop. Wainger will be discussing the most common writing mistakes she sees on submissions. She will be joined by local authors Kira Sinclair, Lynn Raye Harris, and Kimberly Lang as they navigate the subjects of the submission process and writing sexual tension. Registration is now open for the September 26th event, held at the Madison Street Surgery Center of Huntsville, AL, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Leslie Wainger’s career in publishing began almost thirty years ago as an editorial assistant for Silhouette Books. While rising to the position of executive editor, she expanded her expertise into single-title fiction and now has extensive experience not only in series and single-title romance, but in general women’s fiction, paranormal, horror, fantasy and mystery. Her award-winning editing garnered her the Romance Writers of America Industry Award. Leslie is also the author of Writing a Romance Novel for Dummies, which serves as a guide to writing strong, salable popular fiction, no matter what the genre. Currently, in addition to her work as a book doctor, she is editor-at-large for the single-title division of Harlequin Enterprises.
Join us for a chance to get answers to your writing questions! Registration is $30 and must be received by September 10, 2009. Seating is limited, so register today. Lunch is included. More information and registration can be found at www.heartofdixie.org or call 256-828-7543.
