Good news for our real estate market. It appears that things are beginning to turn around. Here is the lastest from Realty South
RealtySouth said showing requests of homes for sale are nearing a five-year high. The Birmingham-based real estate company covers the Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile housing markets in the state.RealtySouth’s data showed the company had more than 250 requests to see homes in the state in April, according to a news release.
That’s up from the more than 200 in March and slightly less than the roughly 275 in April 2008, which had the highest requests in the company’s five-year data. The uptick in showings could mean inventories of homes for sale will start dropping, which would reduce the choice for buyers, it said. According to the most current data available from the Alabama Center for Real Estate at the University of Alabama, in March, the Birmingham area’s inventory of homes for sale reached 10,649. Huntsville had 6,089 and Mobile had 3,199.
