Summary: This is an exempt position. Work is of an intellectual and varied nature, requiring independent judgment and discretion. It is anticipated that at least 80% of employee’s work time will be devoted to professional duties. As a senior software developer, use Microsoft Visual Basic 6, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, SQL Server 2000/2005, Crystal Reports, SourceSafe, and other programming and database management tools to provide programmatic and technical support for software applications as assigned. Developer must have experience working with W3C compliant XML files, structures, and processes. Extensive experience in object-oriented design is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Architect new technology solutions using industry standard concepts
• Refactor existing systems to increase code maintainability
• Communicate program design decisions in a written format.
• Perform detailed and complex studies and calculations.
• Develop new software programs to support new mission requirements.
• Maintain existing software modules and programs.
• Provide computer and software support to users.
• Support design and development of applications.
• Develop and maintain reports.
• Integrate modules and packages.
• Support customer fielding of applications.
• Mentor less experienced programmers.
• Participate in peer reviews and other group discussions.
• Develop and maintain documentation in accordance with specified published standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• U.S. citizen.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of the programming tools cited in position summary.
• Thorough knowledge of programming language practices and structure
• Knowledge of project management principles.
• Knowledge of database design and structure.
• Knowledge of personal computer operating systems such as Windows XP.
• Basic knowledge of personal computer architecture.
• Ability to translate written or oral instructions into program source code.
• Proven ability to use a programming interface development environment such as Visual Basic .NET.
• Ability to understand flow diagrams and entity relationship diagrams.
• Ability to interpret design documents such as entity relationship diagrams.
• Ability to write clear, concise thoughts, and to develop ideas in a written format.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods (1 hour or more) when at field sites.
• Able to interface with non-programming personnel.
Security Requirements: Employee will be required to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance while performing duties under this contract.
Education and/or Experience:
• B.S. or B.A. degree required in related technical field. B.S. Computer Science preferred.
