Huntsville, AL - Republican Congressional Candidate (AL-05) Wayne Parker today called on his opponent, Parker Griffith, to return the approximately $750,000* in campaign cash he has received from the DCCC after Rep. Barney Frank called for a 25% cut in military spending. Barney Frank is the DCCC’s 5th largest contributor,* giving at least $650,000 to the DCCC this election cycle. Other top DCCC contributors include Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Chicago Congressman Rahm Emanuel.

In addition to calling for an across the board cut of 25% in military spending, Rep. Frank singled out future weapons when he said,”We don’t need all these fancy new weapons.”*

“Now we can add Barney Frank to the list of top Democrats in Congress who want to decimate our defense budget,” Wayne Parker said. “I think it’s a big problem when the very folks who want to cut our vital defense projects are bankrolling my opponent’s campaign.”

“The great irony of this is that the DCCC is running all these ads saying I will cut Redstone Arsenal jobs”, Parker continued. “Those ads are being paid for by the people who really do want to cut those jobs. It’s like the fox trying to buy the henhouse.”
