1) may be interested in part-time teaching;
2) may know someone who is interested in part-time teaching; or
3) have your own e-network and can share this information with them.

Beginning with the spring 2009 semester at Calhoun Community College, I have a need for the following qualified adjuncts:

1) Psychology
2) History
3) English
4) Speech

Both day and night classes are offered at the Huntsville and Decatur campuses, so there are some options.

To be qualified, you MUST have a Master’s degree in the specific discipline that you would like to teach in, and a minimum of 18 hours in that specific discipline.

Prior teaching experience is good, but not required.

To be credential qualified, you MUST do the following:

1) Complete the application for employment (www.calhoun.edu);
2) Request official transcripts be sent to Human Resources (HR); and
3) Send your resume with the completed package (application, resume, and requested official transcripts) to the HR office.

Your package will be reviewed, and HR will notify you by mail about your qualification status.
At that point, you should call me at (256) 306-2756 and let me know that you have been qualified.
I can then look at possible courses for the spring.

It is not necessary to send anything to me, because the official documents (package) will drive the process.

Over the next year, I will be requesting full time positions in English, Speech, Sociology and Psychology, so for those that may be considering full-time teaching, this may be a great foot-in-the-door opportunity.
